My ninth book, His Last Resort, will be available in four days. Four days! That's right: In 96 hours, give or take, the story of Hugo and Starling will no longer be mine alone. What started as a simple storyline with a clear timing somehow knocked me off my axis a few times while writing. There was a lot more to both characters than expected, and the more I got to know them with every paragraph, the more I was in awe of both men. I not-so-secretly love taking the backseat as an author and watch two individuals fall for each other, often despite their best efforts not to. In that regard, writing His Last Resort was a delight.

As is the case with most escort romances out there, the spice - or heat, or whatever you want to call sex on the page - is very much alive in this book. It's best to consider it a third main character, actually, as it reveals so much about both Hugo and Starling throughout. As their sparks make way for vulnerability, all you'll want to do is give them a long hug and tell them it's all going to be okay. In other words, high angst/high heat, check.
